Next time, download ‘Baywatch’ reruns. A German court recently handed down that country’s first conviction for online music swapping. The defense tried to plead insanity because the suspect only downloaded David Hasselhoff songs, but the court ruled that only proved bad taste.  
 
Tiny telephone. France Telecom has unveiled the world’s smallest smart phone, which is a third smaller than today’s smallest smart phone. Now all we need are heads a third smaller so we can talk and listen at the same time.
 
Cold play. Iceland is trying to become the first country in the world with fiber to every home. That would give people two reasons to live in the North Atlantic island nation; high speed Internet access AND the weather. 
 
Apple. Usually sitting on the sidelines smirking as Microsoft fends off hackers and bug authors, Apple Computer quietly patched a few gaping holes in its own OS X operating system, proving that not even computerized Apples are immune from worm holes. 
 
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Dell and Hewlett Packard have pledged to do more to relieve local authorities of the burden of recycling old computers. How about not upgrading them every year and forcing consumers to throw the old ones away?
